As the shofar was sounding I saw a banquet a huge party we were invited to. As each one of us stepped into the front hall we were transformed. We had beautiful silk gowns given to us and a colorful sash to tie like a cummerbund. Everyone had different mixes of colors some strips, some printed some even had inset jewels on theirs.
We had our shoes removed and were given white footie socks. The floor I noticed as I was putting on the socks was white translucent marble with gold and silver shinny veins running through it. Many at the party had small thin crowns on their heads. We were each given a crown to wear. They were beyond exquisite. We had to look in the mirror to see what they looked like because they were placed on our heads from behind. Everyone was fascinated as people moved around the room to talk to each other, the light reflected rainbows of colors onto everything and everyone. As I stepped into the banquet room I was shown which chair would be mine at this magnificent banquet table. On each plate were our names. The tables had all white table cloths with hand crocheted lace on the edge. There were beautiful silver candle sticks and linen napkins. The glasses were stemmed and glistened those same rainbow colors. I turned to talk to the person looking over the table, He said “Do you know why all have been invited?”
“Well” I answered “surely you should know. We are all of the family of God and when Daddy gives a party you come. They are always so exciting and wonderful. He will come and speak to us soon. I can’t imagine a gathering without dancing. Jesus always loves to dance with each of us.”
He asked another question “why?’ I was taken by surprise. “What do you mean why?” Because He loves us and wants to shower us with His blessings. Would you ask your earthly father why if he wanted to give a party?” “Well I guess not” He said. I responded. “Oh I’m starting to understand you haven’t been to one of these before have you?” No” he said kind of sheepishly.
“Well enjoy relax and have fun. You’ll be back. It makes you want to come back. Each time is different. Each place is different but all equally exciting.” He thanked me and smiled as he walked away.
