I saw two Mt. ranges down in the valley was a quiet stream of crystal clear water. I flowed gently over the rocks. I saw a shepherd leading sheep out of the mountains and down to the stream. He went back to round up those who wanted to eat instead of drinking nudging them towards the water. He had to pick up one little baby that floundered. When he set the little one down by the water she heard her mom and raced over to be next to her.
The shepherd sat on a large rock and counted them to make sure they were all there. When that was done he got out his lunch and ate. All the time keeping his eyes on his flock. When they had finished drinking they gathered around the shepherd and laid in the sunshine.
It was such beautiful picture of Ps 23. The Lord is our Shepherd. He fully takes care of our needs. WE lack for nothing his Kingdom. We are at peace. He encourages us to eat at His table and drink when we need. Then rest and stay in peace. When we allow turmoil into our lives we don’t digest our food or think clearly. We focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right. However he come and nudges us to follow him and if necessary picks us up and carries us to the better part of life. He never leaves us always loving us into the right way. Giving us mercy every day. Showing us his goodness. We are comforted by his staff or boundaries. He places around us for our security. And the longer we are around him the more we know his love and path for us. Even when we get off the path his goodness draws us into repentance and back on the path we are set to continue with his plan Jer 29:11 for our lives.
He is truly the Great Shepherd over us his flock. Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
