03-03-20 Walking and Living in the Glory Part One

The start of a new series that will instruct believers in how to walk and live in the glory of God. Many great spiritual leaders like Sid Roth and his guests believe we’ve come into a new dimension of ministry that focuses on God’s presence or more specifically His glory. One of the things that David points out is how ministering in the glory is different than ministering in the anointing by and through the gifts of the Spirit. He shares a ministry trip he made with Sid Roth to a David Herzog meeting and how differently the technique or methodology of ministry was from his personal experience and style. The best part is how gloriously God moved and lives were touched and changed. In this message, David recaps the many moves of God that started when Israel became a nation in 1948 and how each move was unique in what it brought to light (understanding) in the body of Christ. Each one of these moves was preparatory for where we are today in ushering in the glory of God that David believes is setting the stage for the return of Jesus. Unfortunately, the basis of walking and living in the fullness of God’s glory is a less than popular message as it focuses on such things as self-denial, being crucified with Christ, taking up the cross and laying one’s life down. David explains the Biblical model for shining or radiating the glory is the transfiguration. Just as Jesus was transfigured so can also we in doing what He did and even greater. This first message of the series David introduces a number of concepts, precepts, and truths of God’s Word that will be examined over the coming weeks. The basic Scripture premise that we can be transfigured just like Jesus was can be seen in Romans 12:2. “Be not conformed to this world but rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.” The Greek word (original text) for transformed is the same Greek word that is translated into transfigured in the Scripture in Matthew where Jesus was transfigured, His face did shine and His raiment was white as the light. David feels this series is going to be one of the best for those who are really serious about their walk with Christ. He points out how the Apostle Paul warned Timothy in I Timothy 4:1, “That in the latter times some would depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. “Departing from the faith,” according to the Greek is a very slow, gradual turning away from the sound teaching of God’s Word. Paul told Timothy that this would happen through seducing spirits (New Age doctrine) and doctrines of devils (witchcraft and sorcery). Through these evils, we now have socially acceptable and seeker-friendly churches, without glory. David points out that the word latter (times) in Greek means the last of the last days and the Greek word for times means, an appointed time. Many modern churches are more concerned with church numeric or financial growth than spiritual values which is what Paul was warning Timothy. Essentially just what Paul prophesied for the last days has happened; a watered-down Gospel that does not confront sin, pride, and worldliness and instead promotes a distortion of grace. The modern church has done exactly what Paul said not to do; “Do not be conformed to this world.” In today’s carnal church it’s hard to tell the difference between believers and unbelievers as they look and act so much alike. But praise God for a church awakening, and a fresh move of the Holy Spirit to a people who want to do more than play church. We are privileged to be a part of a glorious outpouring of the Spirit that will bring a conviction to sin, carnality, and worldliness. This series will be a launching pad for many that are ready, and wanting to know how to walk and live in the glory. Walking and living in the glory is definitely for the Christian that is more interested in what’s important to God than what’s important to self.
