10-01-19 Basis of Great Faith Part One

David revisits one of my most favorite timeless classic teachings on, “The Basis of Great Faith.” Most notably though tonight is a break from ten years of format/tradition in doing Tuesday night teachings that are an average of one hour or more each. With the change, we hope to accommodate more people’s busy schedules with purposing to pack more into a 30-minute lesson. The reality though is it will most likely turn into a series that is twice as long. Time will tell, but I sure would like to hear back from you as to whether you like/prefer the new format. In the next couple of weeks, we are going to be having a couple of incredible guests on the program, and for those interviews, we’ll most likely use the one-hour format. Revisiting the Centurion’s great faith is so very appropriate for us at this time as what made his faith so great to cause Jesus to marvel is exactly what we need. A couple of unique facets of the recording of the miracle is that only twice in the life of Jesus does he credit someone with, “Great faith.” Interesting is both times it is from a gentile (non-Jewish, not a religious person) and both times faith their faith was used for someone else who received a miracle at a distance away. Also notable is only twice in the recorded life of Jesus does He marvel (to be amazed or astonished). Although everyone marvels at Him, He only marvels twice. Once at the Centurions’ great faith which gets someone else headed at a distance away and then in His hometown where he marveled at their lack of faith. As a result of a lack of faith or more literally no faith, He could do no miracles. As you’ll hear tonight one of the main reasons, they limited Jesus in His home town is they were focused on the man or more significantly, the natural side of things. The centurion which had great faith, however, saw a man under authority that was being used by God. The key for us is we too need to see past the natural into the supernatural and in the same glorious way that God worked through Jesus He wants to work through us with signs, wonders, and miracles. This series is jam-packed with insight, revelation, and life-changing principles and precepts that will help you to walk in the fullness of life God has planned for you. These powerful truths have always been true, but with the increase of evil and wickedness on the earth more than ever we need to know who we are in Christ, how to walk in great faith and exercise the authority of the believer.
